Minister Dizayee in virtual meeting with diplomats and UN organizations in Kurdistan

The Head of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Department of Foreign Relations (DFR), Minister Safeen Dizayee, hosted a productive meeting through video conference with the diplomats, the foreign missions of neighboring countries and the UN organizations based in the Kurdistan Region.

At the beginning of the meeting, Minister Dizayee presented an overview on the recent political, security, economic, humanitarian, and health developments in Kurdistan and Iraq, with particular reference to the the Coronavirus (COVID19) outbreak.

Minister Dizayee also discussed the KRG’s role in the formation of the new Iraqi cabinet, its strategy and policies to resolve outstanding issues between Erbil and Baghdad, the importance of the KRG’s participation in and support of the Iraq-USA Strategic Agreement.

Minister Dizayee thanked the diplomatic missions for their understanding and steadfast support to the KRG in combating COVID-19 and for adhering to the KRG’s preventive measures to contain the pandemic.

From their part, the 28 diplomatic missions commended the role of the KRG in taking prompt measures against the spread of the virus in the Kurdistan Region and thanked the Head of DFR for the valuable exchange of views.
