On May 3, Prime Minister Masrour Barzani met with Italian Defense Minister Guido Crosetto to discuss the current situation in Iraq and ways to strengthen relations between the Kurdistan Region and Italy.
During the meeting, the Italian Defense Minister extended an invitation on behalf of the Italian Prime Minister to visit Rome and expressed his friendship towards the Kurdish people. He emphasized the continued support of the Peshmerga in the fight against terrorism and the maintenance of peace and security in the region.
The Prime Minister expressed his gratitude to Italy for its friendly relations with the Kurdistan Region and its support for the Kurdish people. He also highlighted the numerous opportunities for development of the relationship and for leveraging Italy’s advanced expertise.

Defence Minister Crosetto also met with President Nechirvan Barzani.
