Prime Minister Masrour Barzani met with UN Secretary General’s representative to Iraq, Jeanine Hennis-Plasschaert, to discuss the latest political developments in Iraq as government formation talks progress.
As the Parliament in Baghdad held its first session, both sides stressed the need for the new government to represent the interests of all citizens and prioritize the stability and security of the country, which includes a peaceful resolution to longstanding issues with Erbil.
